The senior rugby league club from Beenleigh is here to change the culture around playing rugby league and living life in the Logan suburb.

For years, Anthony Friend, Chairman of Beenleigh Senior Rugby League Club has seen up and coming junior stars leave the Beenleigh and play for other Logan clubs in the belief that you won’t get anywhere playing for Beenleigh.

Having this conversation with friends over a quiet beverage at a local RSL in late 2014, the Beenleigh Senior Rugby League Club were born.

Beenleigh Pride entered a team into the Southside Open 1 Grade of the Brisbane Second Division Rugby League Competition in 2015, with a focus of having a team that the region can be proud of, and that local juniors want to stay and play for.

Since 2015, the Pride have played in 5 Grand Finals, winning 4, including 2 in the Brisbane Premier Division Reserve Grade competitions of 2018 and 2019.

After sitting out in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic, the Pride are back in 2021 with their first A Grade team, who are a feeder team to the Wynnum-Manly Seagulls Intrust Super Cup state wide competition.

We’re not here to steal your car Friend, along with Head Coach Jason Gainey have worked tirelessly to build a club culture of working hard for each other and playing a tough, disciplined style of football for the full 80 minutes.

Watching a game at Bill Norris Oval on a Saturday afternoon, you will see the usual sights; big hits, great passing, passionate fans, plenty of tries, and if you look closely, you will also see teams that are there to just play rugby league.

Fighting and talking back to referees are a thing of the past in 2021.

After the game you will hear the loud and proud team song ringing from the new dressing sheds;

Beenleigh Pride is who we are,
we’re not here to steal your car,
we are here to play the game,
run and kick for metre’s gained,
today they put us to the test
we turned out to be the best…

And that’s just the start.

These boys from Beenleigh, with the help of some great leaders, local businesses and loyal supporters have created a club that local juniors can be proud of, and play for without having to leave the area.
