Travel Story – My time in Fiji:

I have many favourite travel moments a highlight was taking our son Nate to Fiji for the first time.  I have travelled to Fiji many times and travelling as a family was truly magical.  Fiji is one of the first places I want to travel to when our borders open.

It’s October.  This year seems to have flown by, yet has it?  When the Logan City Guides team asked me to submit this month’s editorial, I can honestly say that I have struggled.  Travel seems to still be at a standstill, and traveller confidence is low.

We’re all left a little bewildered as to what the future of travel looks like and when our governments will stop bickering, locking us down and closing our borders.  But I am still here and I will continue to look forward to the good times – because there will be good times again.

With airlines like Air Canada, Hawaiian Airlines and even our own national carrier Qantas announcing the resumption of international flight schedules starting in December you can’t help but feel a little tingle of excitement.  Or is it trepidation?

We are now living in a very different world to that of pre-2020 and the conversation surrounding vaccinations now joins the ranks of politics as a subject to be best kept to oneself. But there are many countries opening up for quarantine free arrivals for vaccinated travellers from anywhere in the world and it won’t be long until our country opens its borders, and we can once again explore like we once used to.

To quote a very wise man, Hans Christian Anderson a danish author:

To move, to breathe,

To fly, to float, to gain

All while you give,

To roam the roads of lands remote…

To Travel is to Live.

So, whilst we sit and (I’m) patiently wait, I would love for you all to share your favourite travel stories and photos with me to win a luxurious night of accommodation in one of the best cities in the world – Brisbane.  Please see below for prize details.

Please submit a photo with your favourite travel story (50 words or less) to  tina.rochedale@helloworld.com.au.  The winner will be chosen by me and announced on the 31st of October via the Helloworld Travel Rochedale Facebook & Instagram page.

The winner will be contacted directly. Photo’s and stories will be shared on the Helloworld Travel Rochedale Shopping Village Facebook & Instagram page and the top 3 will be shared in the Logan City Guides December edition. The prize is to the value of $400 and must be redeemed by 30 June 2022. The prize is transferable but not redeemable for cash.
