It’s the event set to add some sparkle for disappointed Ekka goers seeking to celebrate this month.

The City of Logan’s Eats & Beats pop-up festival is returning to Underwood Park on August 27 for an evening of food, fun and fantastic entertainment.

Tasty dishes and desserts from more than 20 food trucks will be available while talented local musicians will be on stage to entertain seated diners.

The talent line-up includes hip hop dancers from Kingston’s Bloodline Dance Company.

The troupe was scheduled to perform at Brisbane’s Ekka, which was cancelled earlier this month because of pandemic restrictions.

Now they are thrilled to strut their stuff closer to home.

Bloodline Director Juanita McElhone, better known as Winnie, said the group’s debut Eats & Beats performance would involve “lots of energy, good vibes and great music.”

“(The Ekka cancellation) was very disappointing so our dancers and their families are super excited to still have the opportunity to perform this term,” she said.

“We are extremely grateful.”

City Lifestyle Chair Cr Laurie Koranski encouraged the City of Logan community to ensure they are familiar with COVID-Safe event rules so they can enjoy another fantastic Eats & Beats event.

“It has certainly been another tough period for our community as COVID-19 pandemic restrictions continue to impact our lives,” Cr Koranski said.

“I’m so glad we can come together again, in a COVID-Safe way, for another great Eats & Beats night that is sure to bring smiles to many faces.

“If you haven’t been to an Eats & Beats event before please down come and join in, it’s a great way to support and celebrate our community.”

Eats & Beats attendees must follow COVID-Safe guidelines including maintaining social distancing, wearing masks when appropriate and practising good hygiene.

All Eats & Beats attendees must register on arrival through the Check In QLD App.

More information on the event, and updates on any late changes, can be found on the Eats & Beats Facebook page.
